Fentanyl is a Public Health Crisis

This dangerous narcotic is:

50x stronger than Heroin

100x stronger than Morphine

The CDC estimates that

6 of every 10 fentanyl pills contain a fatal dose.

Those who sell fentanyl are not just dealing drugs - they are dealing DEATH.

Implementing mandatory minimum sentences for fentanyl traffickers is a step toward protecting our communities, deterring potential traffickers, and seeking justice for the victims whose lives have been lost at the hands of fentanyl traffickers.

Pros of Mandatory Minimums

Support Law Enforcement

Idahos law enforcement is on the front line, constantly faced with the effects fentanyl has on our community.

Mandatory minimums will help our law enforcement keep dangerous traffickers out of our community.

Deter Drug Cartels

Drug cartels do not care about people, they care about money.

Mandatory minimums add an additional obstacle for cartels causing them analyze risks and choose to sell elsewhere.

Hold Traffickers Accountable

As of May 2022, only 2.9% of Idaho's prison population consists of drug traffickers.

Mandatory minimums will NOT overload our prison system.

Prevent Overdose Deaths

Drug traffickers target vulnerable populations such as teenagers and addicts.

Mandatory minimums mean less traffickers and fewer drugs on our streets.
